Next Monday the 3DS will get its first update that will add quite a bit of new features and those are:

  • Internet Browser
  • Nintendo eShop
  • Pokemon 3D

Nintendo is also giving away Excitbike 3DS for free until July 7. Every Thursday new content will be uploaded on the online store.
The Nintendo eShop will have 3D Classics; games that are remastered in 3D, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Virtual Console games, and over 350 DSiWare games. You can also view game trailers, screen shots and info for future games.
The Pokemon 3D app will let you view the Pokemon you have collected in both Pokemon Black and White in animated motion and sound. Pokemon images can be rotated 360 degrees and be zoomed in and out from any angle. The detailed Pokédex also allows users to search, sort and filter all of the data they receive in a variety of ways, making it the essential guide for Pokémon fans. Players can complete their Pokédex by sharing data with friends and using the SpotPass™ feature, or by scanning special Pokémon AR Markers (augmented-reality markers). Once users have received data for a Pokémon, the AR Viewer allows them to view that Pokémon image in a real-world setting in real time, and create photos to share with friends.
The system update also gives Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™system owners the ability to easily transfer most of their previously downloaded Nintendo DSiWare™ games to their new Nintendo 3DS systems.
